A catalog credit card is one that is different from traditional credit cards because cardholders must use the card to purchase items from designated online catalog locations. The advantage is that they are much easier to obtain than a regular credit card because the requirements are lower. This will allow you to build up your credit rating or repair a poor rating. One of the disadvantages is their limited options for purchases; you won't be able to buy anything from any stores other than the ones specified in the cardholder agreement. If you want to use the card to make general purchases or don't want to have to buy online, you will need to apply for a regular credit card.
